Welcome toHilden OaksPreparatory School & Nursery

"Pupils with SEND make excellent progress from their starting points because of planning that is tailored to their individual needs." - ISI Inspector, December 2017

At Hilden Oaks we value all our children and support their learning to ensure they are fully included in all school activities and reach their own, individual potential.

We regularly assess all the children’s progress, and where concerns are raised, we carry out screeners for a specific learning difficulty, such as dyslexia. Pupils who have more complex needs may need an Education, Health and Care plan and the school fully supports parent applications to the Local Authority.

In addition to ‘Quality First’ teaching in every class, we offer a variety of interventions and targeted support, delivered by teaching staff and independent specialists. These include 1:1 and small group English and maths sessions, Sensory Circuits for pupils with sensory processing difficulties, and for pupils with delayed gross motor skills we offer the ‘Fizzy’ programme, delivered as part of the PE Curriculum.

An independent Speech and Language therapist makes weekly visits to the school offering assessments and therapy sessions.

We actively encourage the involvement of parents in all aspects of their child’s education and value the contribution parents make to ensuring we know the child’s strengths and difficulties, enabling us to deliver the most appropriate support possible.

If you would like to discuss this further please contact the School Office.
