Welcome toHilden OaksPreparatory School & Nursery

"Prep pupils are mature and competent communicators, with excellent speaking and listening skills.  These skills are developed and honed through participation in many different activities and events, such as drama productions, school assemblies, debates and class discussions." - ISI Inspector. December 2017

At Hilden Oaks, academic success is just part of what we offer our children. Over and above this, we provide an environment where our children feel secure about their own worth so that they can thrive, develop and grow. The school is not just a place for learning, but a society in the true sense of the word. Pupils, teachers and parents all contribute to making Hilden Oaks into the school we are all proud to be part of. What happens outside the classroom is just as important as what happens inside.

Throughout the school, a wide range of extra-curricular activities are on offer to our children, including activity clubs, school trips, inter-school sports events and after-school clubs.

There are many extra-curricular clubs and activities on offer during lunch time and after school including a wide range of musical, creative and sporting activities. These clubs vary each term and our children are encouraged to sign up for as many or as few as they wish. Many of the clubs are run by our own teaching staff, and we also bring in specialists from outside to allow our children to enjoy as wide a range of clubs as much as possible.

Children from Year 1 to Year 6 who are keen to extend and advance their sporting skills are encouraged to take part in extra-curricular clubs. These vary from term to term, and include pop lacrosse, basketball, netball, golf, hockey, cross country, rounders, cricket, athletics, private tennis coaching, tag rugby, fitness/circuits and bike skills.

Trips and outings are an integral part of how the curriculum is planned and taught at Hilden Oaks, both consolidating and enriching classroom learning. Our children enjoy trips and workshops outside the normal classroom routines.

Our proximity to London and the surrounding area allows us to provide a wide range of educational outings.

Specialist teachers are brought in for educational workshops.

After school clubs run until 6.30pm every day of the working week. These allow our children a chance to wind down or do homework after the formal school day has ended, allowing our parents time to get from work to pick up children from school. The Acorn Club is for children in Pre-School and Pre-Prep. The Oaks Club is for Prep School children. In both the Acorn and Oaks Clubs children are given a healthy snack to sustain them through until home time.
